Moon Lamp Production Process

The Moon Lamp is made by using layers of high-resolution photos from NASA to create each layer. These layers are then contoured to create the surface and details of the moon. This process is called 3D printing and it takes about 20 hours for it to be complete.

How are moon lamps made

What materials are Moon Lamps made of?

The Moon Lamp is made from PLA plastic, also known as polylactic acid. PLA is derived from non-toxic materials such as plant starch and sugar cane. You can rest assured that you're getting a quality product that is safe for you and the environment!

PLA is a bioplastic derived from renewable resources, such as cornstarch, sugarcane, and soy. These sources are considered to be “green” because they don’t require chemical processing to be turned into plastic; instead, the material is created through the fermentation of these sugars by bacteria.

Because PLA is made from natural ingredients that can be easily broken down by microorganisms in soil and water when discarded, it's not only safe for you and your family but also eco-friendly! In fact, as an avid recycler myself, I choose PLA products over petroleum-based plastics whenever possible because they're more readily composted once their useful life has come to end.

3D printing technology

3D printing is a technology that builds a solid object from a digital file. This method of manufacturing is also called additive manufacturing because the design is created in layers. The most common type of 3D printing technology uses melted plastic or liquid metal to form the parts layer-by-layer, which are then joined together to create the final product.

3D printing is used in many industries including aerospace, automotive, consumer products, electronics, and medical devices among others.

A process to produce moon lamp

The process to produce a moon lamp begins with the design of a 3D model. This is a standard procedure, as it allows for the creation of unique designs and shapes without any restrictions. The next step involves printing out the design onto a special material that hardens once it comes into contact with air. The material used in this process is called resin powder, which is then heated up until it melts into liquid form before being poured into molds made from silicone rubber or plastic. When cooled off, it solidifies again and creates an exact replica of the original object in question which can be removed from its mold at this point.

LED bead installation

Then comes LED bead installation: once we have created our mold we need to install LEDs inside of them!

This process involves installing the LED beads into the mold by hand. The main goal of this step is to ensure that every bead is properly installed in its appropriate place in the moon lamp so that when it's lit up, it will illuminate as intended.

The finished product is an LED lamp that looks like the moon. It's perfect for any room and can be used as a nightlight in your bedroom or office.

Conclusion

This is how we make moon lamps! We use 3D printing technology to make a model of the moon and then pour the resin into it. After that, we install LED beads in each hole on the surface of the moon lamp before it's ready for shipping.
